The 2023 Waukee Economic Development Bus Tour is a free-to-attend event that draws members, Waukee leaders, and the Waukee area community together to see current development projects and learn about exciting upcoming projects. City of Waukee staff leads a guided tour, with a social hour following for networking. This event offers opportunities to promote your organization in our economic development program, inside The Palms Theatres & IMAX – our home base to start and end the event – or on the buses.

The Iowa Clinic

We are excited to expand and bring our coordinated care model to a larger location in Waukee — serving the needs of growing families living in and around Dallas County. Conveniently located near Interstate 80, we know this expansion will improve the lives of area residents and neighboring suburbs with quality medical providers across our 40+ specialties. The Iowa Clinic will open its Waukee Campus in February 2024 and will be the home to Iowa’s first stand-alone Ambulatory Cath Lab, along with a bone and joint surgery center, primary care, urgent care, physical therapy, radiology in addition to several other specialties, in the heart of Waukee. In our newly expanded Alice’s Road Clinic, we will welcome Dr. Adam Miller, dermatologist, providing Mohs surgery, to treat skin cancer in October, expanding our treatment options for our patients.  We are a proud partner in healthcare for Waukee!

 

UnityPoint Health

UnityPoint Health® is growing and is preparing to open a new multi-specialty clinic in Waukee, set to open Spring 2024. The new UnityPoint Health – Waukee Medical Park will be a 75,000-square-foot multi-specialty clinic on the southeast corner of Grand Prairie Parkway and Southeast Tallgrass Lane in Waukee. The Waukee Medical Park will provide a variety of medical services in one convenient location, including family medicine and internal medicine. In addition, specialty services including cardiology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery and dermatology will be offered to bring all-encompassing care to Waukee and surrounding communities. Lab and imaging services will be available in this location to make health care services more convenient for patients and families. We look forward to meeting health care needs in all ages and stages of life.

The Estates of Waukee

Grace Estates Adult Day Center

In 2018, our family was changing. Dave’s mom was beginning to show signs of memory loss. She was then diagnosed with dementia. Having lived in her home for 40+ years, she wanted to continue living there. We are raising our own family and were unable to be her primary caregivers. It became a heavy burden on Dave’s father to be Dave’s mother’s primary caretaker long term. We were running out of ways, as a family, to care for her needs fully. We prayed and searched for the right options; we discovered Adult Day Care. We loved the idea of Dave’s mom having a safe place to socialize, have stimulating activities, exercise, and enjoy meals with friends.

We were so impressed by the Adult Day Care in Minnesota that we started an Adult Day Care of our own near Minneapolis. Dave’s mom has been attending our center for over a year now, Adult Day Care has done wonders for our family. Dave’s mom became less agitated, increased her mobility, gained healthy weight, socializes with her friends at Adult Day Care. Dave’s dad is happier and is getting better rest, knowing that she is safe, which gives him more energy to care for her when she is home. Adult Day Care gave Dave’s mom a purpose while providing reprieve for Dave’s dad. He has piece of mind, knowing she is safe. He has more time to get the rest he needs, and enjoys more of the activities he loved before caregiving became a full-time responsibility for him. The rest and balance provided by Adult Day Care to Dave’s parents resulted in and both of his parents being healthier, happier, and less stressed.

We opened Grace Estates Adult Day Center in June of 2023, expanding our mission to help families in the Des Moines metro area.
