Governor Announces Reopening of State - Friday, May 15


Today Governor Reynolds announced reopening the State of Iowa on Friday, May 15th, at 5 a.m. We want to provide you with some helpful information to keep your employees and customers safe. Read the Governor's full proclamation.

The Iowa Department of Public Health has published guidelines for reopening businesses. In addition, OSHA guidance is available for preparing workplaces.

Industries have different restrictions they need to adhere to, which can be found in the Proclamation. Restaurants, for example have a specific set of reopening criteria. Refer to the proclamation to ensure you are correctly following the guidelines.

The following industries must remain closed:

  • Bars
  • Theaters
  • Casinos
  • Amusement
  • Museums
  • Zoos
  • Skating rinks/skate parks
  • Playgrounds
  • Swimming pools
  • Door-to-door sales (unsolicited).

Gatherings of more than 10 people continue to be prohibited, including but not limited to festivals, fundraisers, conventions.
