ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
“My work revolves around real estate and development, and I enjoy seeing the City of Waukee grow and evolve as a community. The Waukee Chamber’s Economic Development Committee will host the annual Waukee Economic Development Bus Tour in September, featuring development projects in the City of Waukee and the Waukee Community School District. The tour features an informative tour highlighting community information, business development and schools. Following the tour there is a networking reception. We invite our members and community to participate.”
-Brandon Patterson, Re/Max Real Estate Concepts

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
“Being involved with the Government Affairs Committee has a number of benefits. Meeting with and listening to our local and state representatives is truly valuable as it gives us all a perspective of what is going on currently in the community. It’s great to have open conversations with these folks and voice our opinions on certain issues. I have always had an interest in politics, and this is a great way to get involved at a local level.”
-Matt Klein, Central Bank

MEMBERSHIP
“Membership is important to the Chamber. For me it is a great opportunity to attend the networking opportunities that lead to successful business relationships.”
-Erna Morain, Individual Member

AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
“I like representing the Chamber and Waukee, as I consider this my hometown now since I have lived here longer than any other place in my life. As an Ambassador, we participate in the different events of the chamber, welcome new members, help to make them comfortable, and introduce them to other members.”
-Terry Snyder, Terry Snyder Photography

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
I was interested in the Community Development Committee because community development is a large part of what the chamber does. The Community Development Committee organizes all of the signature events the Chamber puts on including the Annual Dinner & Silent Auction, What's Cookin' in Waukee:  A Business Expo and Tasting Experience & Annual Golf Outing. These events are all great because they allow members to show off their business to other members of the Chamber and community.”
- Bryan Rowland, State Savings Bank

SCHOLARSHIP
“I look forward every year to the opportunity to reward a deserving Waukee student with an academic scholarship. It is a pleasure to review the applicants and discover the talent our community has in its future citizens.  Waukee should be proud of its educational system. In this small way, the Chamber can continue to support the student successes”
- Jerry Purdy, Design Alliance
